The team

You will be part of ONI's dynamic Executive Office team that supports DGNI and ONI's Deputies. The team operates in a high-tempo national security environment, and members require exceptional discretion, judgement and organisational capability.

We work collaboratively across the organisation, the National Intelligence Community and broader Government, with a commitment to excellence and high-level representation for our agency. Our executive assistants are vital to our team's success and are highly valued and supported for their contributions.

The role
The Executive Assistant to the Director General of National Intelligence (DGNI) plays a pivotal role at the centre of strategic leadership. Acting as the primary liaison between the DGNI and a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, this position ensures seamless relationship management and operational flow. Working in close partnership with the Executive Officer (EO) and Chief of Staff (COS), the Executive Assistant coordinates the DGNI's priorities, enabling effective decision-making at the highest level.
The typical duties of the role include:
* Working closely with the Chief of Staff (CoS) and the DGNI EO to align daily and forward work priorities, and facilitating effective use of the DGNI's time
* Managing, organising and coordinating the DGNI's diary appointments, meetings, correspondence, and official travel arrangements.
* Overseeing the DGNI's expense management including reimbursements, daily expenses and general accounts.
* Assisting the CoS and EO with briefing requirements for the DGNI's work program.
* Assisting the CoS and EO to prepare, manage and review high-level communications and DGNI correspondence, ensuring the comprehensiveness, accuracy, and timeliness of written information to support the achievement of business requirements.
* Building and sustaining internal and external relationships and obtaining cooperation and assistance from key stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

* a proven ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with counterparts across the broader APS and with external stakeholders, underpinned by a strong understanding of government processes and priorities
* exceptional written and oral communication skills with an ability to work closely and effectively with senior leadership with a focus on excellent stakeholder engagement skills
* advanced organisational skills with a proven ability to manage competing priorities, proactively identify and resolve problems, leverage the expertise of others, and deliver results in tight timeframes with a meticulous attention to detail.

Mandatory attributes:

* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and electronic document management systems.
