About Our School
Pittsworth State High School is a rural co‐educational secondary school located in the town of Pittsworth on the Darling Downs, west of Toowoomba. Pittsworth enjoys a well‐deserved reputation of academic excellence established over many years. Students are offered the opportunity to follow many pathways into further study and employment through academic preparation along with school‐based apprenticeships and training.
About The Role
* Contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the school by providing a high level of agricultural systems support to the nominated school staff.
* Ensure that the agricultural field study sites, animals, crops, machinery and equipment used by the school are maintained in a functional, secure and safe manner.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and maintain agricultural facilities, equipment, and field sites.
* Plant, care for, and monitor crops and gardens.
* Feed and care for animals, including cleaning enclosures.
* Apply fertilisers, insecticides, and other agricultural treatments as required.
* Maintain fences, gates, machinery, glasshouses, aquariums, and storage areas.
* Manage agricultural supplies, chemicals, fuel stocks, deliveries, and stocktakes.
* Record basic agricultural data and maintain stock records.
* Support agricultural teaching activities by preparing materials and assisting practical classes.
* Ensure compliance with safety, maintenance, and first aid requirements.
