Hands-on Accountant role supporting project teams with financial reporting, cost control, and compliance across large-scale infrastructure works. You'll play a key part in streamlining processes and delivering accurate insights in a fast-paced environment. Client Details Michael Page is partnering with a well-established Construction & Engineering contractor, renowned for delivering complex infrastructure projects across civil, mining, and marine sectors throughout Australia. Description Prepare and manage financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. Reconcile accounts, including balance sheets and general ledgers. Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS). Assist with preparation and submission of Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns. Create and maintain the fixed assets register and provide support for capital expenditure (CAPEX) procurements and disposals. Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities to support strategic decision-making. Monitor cash flow and provide recommendations for improvements. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure financial data integrity. Maintain compliance with all relevant accounting standards and legislation. Support external audits by providing required documentation and information. Profile A successful Accountant should have: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of Australian accounting standards and regulations. The ability to work effectively in a team and independently when required. CPA or CA qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
