About the Opportunity: Our client is seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join their small, friendly, and hardworking workshop team in Wallaville. This role offers an excellent work environment with a relaxed, team-oriented culture and a strong reputation for high-quality workmanship.
This position begins as a casual role, with a competitive hourly rate between
and the potential to convert to a permanent contract after 3 months. You'll work Monday to Friday, with shifts between 7 am and 4 pm.
Key Responsibilities
* Service, repair and maintain plant, machinery and heavy vehicles
* Complete tasks efficiently and to a high standard
* Supervise trainee/apprentice mechanics when required
* Work closely with parts staff to source required components
* Liaise with the senior mechanic to ensure workload is managed effectively
* Work safely at all times and contribute to a safe team environment
* Maintain clean and tidy workspaces
* Follow all company policies and procedures
* Attend off-site call-outs for customer machinery as needed
* Accurately complete job cards to support invoicing
* Report incidents and near misses to the supervisor
