Professional Level 5 - $80,236 - $90,420 p.a. plus up to 17% employer superannuation
Part time (21.75 hours per week), fixed term appointment for two years
The Opportunity
The Thompson Institute at UniSC is an emerging world-class facility for mental health and neurological research, education, and clinical services. Our mission is to advance understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of brain and mind disorders, with a focus on mental health in youth and adults, as well as ageing and dementia.
As the Administration Officer for the Let's Yarn About Sleep (LYAS) Program, you will play a key role in supporting groundbreaking First Nations-led research dedicated to improving sleep health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, culturally responsive research team committed to continuous improvement, collaboration, and impactful outcomes.

You will
provide high-quality administrative and coordination support to the LYAS Program Lead and Program Manager, including diary management, correspondence, reporting, and travel arrangements;
assist in managing program operations, including meeting coordination, maintaining project records, procurement, and logistics;
support the continuous improvement of processes and procedures by developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures and providing policy guidance; and
liaise professionally with a wide range of stakeholders including UniSC staff, research collaborators, community partners, and participants.
About you
You are a proactive and professional administrator who brings a high level of organisation, cultural sensitivity, and attention to detail to your work. Your ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively, and contribute positively to a collaborative team makes you an asset in complex and rapid-paced research environments. You thrive in roles that require adaptability, discretion, and a commitment to process improvement.
You will possess:
A relevant degree with administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training;
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders;
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines;
Sound computer literacy and a willingness to adapt to new systems and technologies; and
A culturally aware and inclusive approach, with a commitment to respectful and ethical engagement with diverse communities.
