Primary objective
As part of Early Careers, provide high level client focused support to Northern Territory Government (NTG) agencies and
employees by delivering NTG Early Careers Programs with a primary focus on coordinating Traineeships and Graduate programs.
Context statement
Department of Corporate and Digital Development's Workforce Development team delivers strategic workforce initiatives to meet
client agency requirements and achieve improved workforce outcomes. This role is in Early Careers, which is responsible for the
management of six centralised Early Careers programs delivered across the NTG. The Early Careers Consultant provides
management, coordination, and delivery of Early Careers programs and is responsible for building and maintaining relationships
with program participants and client agencies to provide program management, recruitment and human resources support to
deliver positive employment outcomes.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Develop relationships and partner with agency contacts to provide a responsive high quality Early Careers service and end to
end support to manage participation and engagement in programs.
2. Work collaboratively with the wider Early Careers team to coordinate recruitment, induction and monitoring of program
participants, in accordance with relevant legislation.
3. Build and maintain key relationships and work closely with colleagues and internal stakeholders to exchange information,
resolve issues and provide support to foster a collaborative, effective work environment.
4. Research, collate and analyse information from a variety of sources to prepare reports and provide high quality, effective and
timely Early Careers program support and advice.
1. Represent DCDD professionally in a range of forums to promote NTG Early Careers programs.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven experience in the promotion, coordination, implementation and evaluation of employment programs to strengthen
workforce capability.
1. Demonstrated experience managing high volume workloads with tight deadlines while providing quality customer service.
2. Demonstrated experience in providing support, coaching and mentoring to client agencies and program participants.
3. Well-developed written and oral communication skills with the ability to build strong professional relationships and collaborate
with stakeholders to influence and achieve desired outcomes.
1. Experience in report writing, maintaining data, and reviewing and updating processes, procedures and forms to improve
services.
1. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude, which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest and innovative.
Desirable
1. Knowledge and experience in Vocational Education and Training or Australian Apprenticeships.
1. Experience using NTG systems including eRecruit.
