About the Role
* As a Senior Town Planner, you will be responsible for providing strategic and statutory planning expertise to support integrated, sustainable development outcomes.
* You will lead a team of planners and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality planning solutions that meet the needs of the community.
Key Responsibilities
* You will manage complex planning applications, scheme amendments, and development projects from inception to completion.
* You will provide expert planning advice to staff, management, stakeholders, and the community on sustainable growth and land use policies.
* You will represent the organisation at hearings, panels, and relevant forums to advocate for the interests of the community.
* You will lead strategic planning initiatives to guide sustainable growth and land use policy in the region.
* You will manage, mentor, and develop a team of planning professionals to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
* You will ensure compliance with planning legislation, regulations, and organisational policies to maintain the integrity of the planning process.
* You will coordinate public consultation programs and foster strong community engagement to build trust and confidence in the planning process.
* You will work closely with other departments to deliver departmental objectives, including budgeting, reporting, and service improvements.
Essential Requirements
* A current Victorian Driver's Licence is required.
* A National Police Check is also required.
* A degree in Planning or a related field is essential.
