Our Service:
headspace Centres act as a one-stop-shop for young people needing help with mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drugs, and/or work and study support.
On offer:
- Based in Nundah, QLD
- Fixed-term, part-time (0.8 FTE) contract until 30/06/2026 (must be available to work 11am - 7pm one day per week)
- Paying on HPSS Level 3 (above award for highly experienced clinicians) plus superannuation

Role Overview:
The Clinician, as part of a multidisciplinary team, will provide focused psychological strategies tailored to meet the individual needs of young people and families within a community-based mental health setting. This includes working with relevant service systems to respond appropriately to mental health and developmental needs.
- Providing high-standard assessments, psychological, counselling, and therapeutic interventions
- Opportunities to run group programs
- Liaising and working with internal and external stakeholders
- The Senior Mental Health Clinician will oversee clinical escalation pathways and provide supervision to a small team of clinicians.
Requirements:
- Must have one of the following: General AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, or Mental Health Nurse; or AASW registration as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
- Advanced knowledge and skills for contemporary clinical practice within a continuum of care
- Strong judgment and evaluation skills with understanding of assessment and care planning
- Extensive experience providing clinical services to young people (12-25 years) preferred
- Understanding of public, non-government, and private mental health systems and related community programs
- Interpersonal skills demonstrating sensitivity and ability to work with individuals at risk of or experiencing mental illness
- Ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, capable of managing multiple tasks under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Support the Clinical Manager in coordinating multidisciplinary team processes within a strengths-based, trauma-informed framework
- Must hold or be willing to apply for a Blue Card and NDIS worker screening clearance
