Lead Mental Health Care for Older Adults | Associate Nurse Unit Manager
Join our specialised Older Persons Mental Health team at Repat Health Precinct as Associate Nurse Unit Manager, where you'll provide clinical leadership while making a real difference in the lives of older adults facing mental health challenges. About the role:
Reporting to the (Operationally) - Team Manager (Professionally) - Nurse Consultant, some of your duties for the role will include:
* Budget preparation, monitoring and reporting and adherence to resources
* Monitoring patient/client care plans to ensure appropriate care outcomes are achieved on a daily basis
* Assists and supports the Nurse Consultant/Team Manager or equivalent in management, clinical, and education activities
* Participate in clinical auditing, clinical trials and/or evaluative research
* Provide proficient, person centred, clinical nursing/midwifery care and/or individual case management to patients/clients in a defined clinical area
About you:
* Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience
* Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses
* Knowledge and experience of evidence based theoretical frameworks relevant to the field of older persons mental health (such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Focussed Therapy, Relapse Prevention and the Recovery Model)
* Demonstrated competency and proficiency in clinical skills appropriate to the area (individual counselling skills and group work skills including planning and preparing psycho-educational therapy group programs)
