The Company:
Glenelg Engineering is a South Australian based company providing general engineering services and support to the fuel distribution sector in S.A. Due a recent retirement a position has become available for a skilled, safety conscious and passionate Maintenance Fitter to support the delivery of our services to various sites in S.A.

The Role:
You will be working in a positive team environment assisting Glenelg Engineering deliver on-site maintenance services to the leading fuel oil companies operating in the South Australian market. As such, we are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to perform planned and reactive maintenance works on local bulk storage installations across various sites. You will be required to perform tasks such as routine inspections and maintenance, function tests, general repairs, upgrades and refurbishments. Due to the specialised nature of the role training will be provided with prior knowledge in these areas not expected. There will be opportunities for the right applicant to increase their skills base and learn while on the job and through training.
In addition, you may be required to:
* Identify, plan, manage & execute preventative and corrective maintenance tasks as well as provide technical assistance as required.
* Work with other maintenance personnel to maintain fuel storage and handling equipment to agreed schedules, procedures and standards
* Effectively diagnose problems and provide technical support as required for problem solving maintenance issues
* Carry out work in accordance with Work Health Safety & Quality Assurance requirements and the relevant codes and industry standards
* Utilise clients permit to work system by preparing permit applications and JSA's.
* Completion and administration of maintenance inspection records
* Be able to work overtime as required
* Pass any future random drug & alcohol tests
Skills & Experience:
* Cert III Mechanical Engineering OR Trade Certification in Mechanical Fitting
* Experience in the Petrochemical industry an advantage
* Experience with fuel equipment & systems is an advantage but not essential
* High Risk certifications such as Confined Space, Working at Heights, EWP and Forklift licence would be advantageous
* Having a solid understanding of pumping, pneumatics and bulk fuel installations would also be an advantage
* Adaptable and willing to learn
* Valid Australian Drivers Licence
* Basic skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications and email
* Ability to work unsupervised and maintain good communications
* Previous experience in a leadership role will be looked on favourably
This position offers the opportunity of long term employment for the right person but will initially be offered as a full-time casual position with a 3 month probationary period.
