Offer description

With a strong reputation in the market, Coal LSL is an Australian Government corporation established to connect employees in the black coal mining industry to their long service leave entitlements. Coal LSL is a purposeful and forward thinking organisation, committed to strengthening industry partnerships, modernising its operating model, and delivering long term value through smart governance and innovation.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Technology Vendor and Contract Management Specialist to join Coal LSL's Operations Division within the Finance Business Unit. This is a fully remote role, offering the opportunity to contribute from anywhere in Australia while working closely with stakeholders across the organisation. The role is central to supporting Coal LSL's transformation agenda, partnering closely with stakeholders across the transformation team to ensure technology vendors and contracts deliver value, performance, and compliance. With most technology contracts already in place, this role is focused on vendor management, holding suppliers to account by measuring performance against contract and negotiating commercial outcomes, and where required, realigning these outcomes to changing business requirements.

Acting as the primary point of contact between Coal LSL and its technology suppliers, this is a 12 month fixed term contract where you will build strong external relationships, lead contract and vendor performance management, and uplift vendor management practices across the organisation. This is a hands on role requiring strong commercial judgement, confident stakeholder engagement, and an IT specialisation that enables you to understand technology services and delivery expectations.

Key Responsibilities

* Measure and monitor vendor performance against agreed KPIs and contractual obligations, escalating risks and driving resolution where required
* Negotiate commercial outcomes within existing technology contracts and service level agreements, in collaboration with internal stakeholders
* Partner with stakeholders across the transformation team and broader organisation to support delivery outcomes and ongoing operational success, and realign contractual requirements where required
* Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships externally with key suppliers, vendors, and service providers
* Lead end to end contract management for technology vendors, including contract lifecycle oversight, performance reviews, renewals, and continuous improvement
* Apply a practical understanding of contract law, governance, compliance, and probity requirements
* dentify opportunities for cost optimisation, value maximisation, and service improvement across vendor arrangements
* Support internal capability uplift by improving vendor and contract management processes, templates, and rhythms
* Contribute to risk mitigation and contingency planning related to technology vendors and critical supplier dependencies

The Successful Candidate

* Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Technology or a related discipline
* Extensive experience in vendor relationship management, technology procurement and contracts managemen
* Skilled in engaging with suppliers and managing performance to ensure they meet contractual obligations
* Demonstrated IT specialisation, with experience managing technology vendors across software, cloud, infrastructure, or managed services, preferably within a transformation environment
* Strong practical understanding of contract principles and obligations, with the ability to interpret and manage contractual terms confidently
* Highly developed stakeholder management skills, able to influence, align, and build trust across technical and non technical teams
* Commercially astute, with proven negotiation capability and a proactive approach to vendor performance management
* Strong analytical capability to assess vendor performance, expenditure, and value delivery
* Ability to operate effectively in a changing, complex environment, supporting transformation and continuous improvement

Why Join Coal LSL

Employees are supported through flexible working arrangements, including fully remote work and compressed hours, enabling a healthy balance between career and lifestyle.

This opportunity offers the flexibility to work remotely while contributing to a collaborative, forward thinking organisation focused on innovation, service excellence, and long term impact.
