Position Title:General Manager, Transformation and Technology
Reports To: CEO Location: Hobart, Tasmania
Role Purpose
The General Manager Transformation and Technology is responsible for driving business transformation and digital enablement across the organisation and its client organisations.
This role leads the evolution of technology, processes, and culture to deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, client experience, and service capability.
The role blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution—guiding organisational change and delivering tangible results through system improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead organisation-wide change programs that modernise systems, processes, and culture.
Deliver measurable business benefits (efficiency, quality, data insight, and client satisfaction).
Build change capability across teams through communication, training, and support.
Oversee all IT operations, ensuring secure, reliable, and fit-for-purpose systems.
Responsible for IT architecture and driving optimisation of core platforms to ensure integration and workflow efficiency.
Strengthen cybersecurity, risk management, and governance frameworks aligned to industry standards.
Ensure continuous improvement to enable seamless operation of existing system configurations.
Identify and implement digital solutions that enhance productivity, scalability, and service outcomes.
Introduce data analytics and reporting capabilities to inform decisions for the organisation and its clients.
Position digital as a key enabler for business growth and client service delivery.
Client & Growth Focus
Develop and implement a digital services business model to offer IT and transformation consultancy to the community and aged-care providers.
Build strong relationships with potential clients and partners to grow the organisation's market presence.
Deliver tailored technology and transformation solutions that create value for clients.
People Leadership & Capability Development
Lead, mentor, and grow the internal IT and data teams to become high-performing and client-focused.
Foster a collaborative and accountable culture where innovation and continuous improvement thrive.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Ensure compliance with aged-care and community-care regulatory requirements.
Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Provide regular reporting to the Executive and Board on digital strategy, performance, and risks.
Provide broad executive leadership and managerial expertise to support the CEO as required.
Key Selection Criteria
Proven experience leading technology-enabled transformation within a complex service or community-care environment.
Strong communication and influencing skills—able to engage diverse stakeholders and translate strategy into action.
Demonstrated success in change management, process improvement, and ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on in delivery.
Experience in IT governance, risk, cybersecurity, and vendor management.
Commercial acumen and the ability to develop and manage budgets, contracts, and business cases.
Experience leading shared-services or consultancy models; exposure to business development and client-facing technology services.
Relevant tertiary qualification in IT, business, or transformation leadership.
\Experience in the aged care or community sector, including an understanding of systems such as TechnologyOne and CareVision.
Capability to support the CEO with broader leadership functions as required.
Measures of Success
Full utilisation of the current system capability, enabling a significant return on investment.
Tangible improvement in process efficiency and client satisfaction.
Delivery of the agreed transformation roadmap and system optimisation outcomes.
Implementation of a sustainable digital services business model.
High staff engagement and capability uplift within the IT team.
Reduced risk exposure and improved technology resilience.
Growth in external client engagement and digital consultancy revenue.
