The University of Sydney Union (USU) is a not-for-profit organisation that has existed to serve the University of Sydney (USYD) community since 1874 when it began as a humble society for ambitious student debaters. As well as operating stores, cafes, and bars across campus, USU provides a range of experiences outside of lectures and exams including Welcome Week, over 200 Clubs, festivals, events, parties, and gigs at our venues. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Supporting the Marketing Department with the communication of the USU brands (including USU, USU eats, Manning Bar, and supporting Verge Gallery) and products to the University of Sydney community, this role encompasses the coordination of social media channels, app, and website, looking for new opportunities to grow USU's digital audiences, increase student engagement and experience.
In addition to content creation, curation and scheduling across platforms, the Marketing Coordinator will assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns, administration and delivering data analytics, reporting, and using insights to continually optimize and evolve the performance of our digital output.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Marketing or Communications degree or equivalent.
3+ years working in a marketing role.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge and experience using eDM platforms, Microsoft Office and Adobe CS including Photoshop and Lightroom.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Build and maintain stakeholder relationships.
Ability to work autonomously, as part of a team and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Creative copywriting abilities, and demonstrating copywriting experience (for social media, blogs, EDM and website).
High level of attention to detail.
Experience with Google Analytics (GA4), Meta business platform, Google suite, and providing reports.
Demonstrated experience with market segmentation, delivering surveys and market research, and understanding the customer.
Strong project planning and organisation skills.
Positive, supportive attitude.
Proactive team player.
DESIRABLE CRITIERIA
Familiarity with web-based content management systems (CMS) WordPress, Contentful and Squarespace.
Additional knowledge of CSS and HTML a bonus.
Knowledge and understanding of youth markets and emerging trends in marketing and social media.
Ability to make recommendations based on results derived from analytics.
HOURS OF WORK
35 hours per week which may include some weekends, nights, and travel as dictated by business requirements.
