Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Mining Engineer to join our team at the Solomon Operations in Perth, Australia.
* This role is responsible for optimising resource-based weekly mining schedules for efficiency and adherence to longer term schedules.
* The ideal candidate will have experience gained as a Mining Engineer with significant exposure to production scheduling and design engineering functions.
* A key responsibility of this role is to design and deliver infrastructure designs for 2-week schedules and daily site operations to optimise resources and maximise mining business value.
The successful candidate will be responsible for reconciliation of 2-week mining schedules to 3-month mining plans, haulage scheduling, optimisation, waste dump designs and schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
* Optimise resource-based weekly mining schedules for efficiency and adherence to longer term schedules
* Design and deliver infrastructure designs for 2-week schedules and daily site operations to optimise resources and maximise mining business value
* Liaise with mining personnel to ensure adherence to mining schedules and produce detailed mining instructions
* Understand design standards, procedures and mine physicals
* Haulage scheduling, optimisation, waste dump designs and schedules
Qualifications and Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
* Experience gained as a Mining Engineer with significant exposure to production scheduling and design engineering functions
* Knowledge in open pit mining, preferably in iron ore
* Effective communication with stakeholders with varying technical knowledge
* Practical approach to engineering and design problems
* Team-oriented and strong ability to take initiatives towards continuous improvement
* Analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
