Second in Charge (2IC) – TeamKids, Diggers Rest, Victoria, Australia


Job Description

This permanent, part‑time opportunity offers hands‑on experience in the OSHC industry. You will receive support from a Director of Service to help you thrive in your role.


Location & Hours

Service Location: Diggers Rest, 3427, VIC.

You'll work across split shifts, Monday to Friday: 6:45‑8:45 AM and 2:45‑6:15 PM, for a total of 27.5 hours per week.


Role Overview

As the Second in Charge (2IC), you'll be a key leader in delivering high‑quality care and creating memorable experiences for the children in our service. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about childcare and leadership, ready to make a meaningful impact on children, parents, and the team.


Responsibilities

* Engage with the school community, attending events and assemblies.
* Assist with the creation and implementation of enriching experiences based on children's preferences.
* Foster genuine relationships with children and their families.
* Play and have fun with primary‑school‑aged children.
* Support compliance with industry regulations in your program.


Candidate Profile

* Prior experience in Before and After School Care or education is preferred – training provided if needed.
* Thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
* Confident communicator with children, parents, staff, and school principals.
* Strong team player with excellent problem‑solving skills and a positive attitude.
* Passionate about creating enriching experiences for primary‑aged children.
* Energetic and enthusiastic.
* Relevant Diploma qualification (equivalent or working towards) as per ACECQA standards.
