The Role The Manufacturing Manager will lead a multi-functional team across Production, Continuous Improvement, OHS and Scheduling for the Mildura plant. With the support of the General Manager and their operational leadership team of reports in place, key mandates will be to further lead, develop and execute the long-term site-based manufacturing strategy, improve standards, increase manufacturing capability, productivity, reliability, manage operating budgets, and play a key role in Safety Leadership, and Continuous Improvement. They will be energetic, passionate and inspiring in order to drive attitudes, behaviours and culture towards increased motivation, safety, innovation, continuous improvement, and growth. They will be outcome and results focused, and further drive LEAN principles across the site and wider business to maximise volume and margin. The Manufacturing Manager will also hold key responsibility for leading occupational health and safety initiatives, programs and promoting wider safety-based culture. They will be required to bring their Manufacturing expertise, including a strong track record of analysis and diagnosis of current state, and delivering strategy, planning, and execution for improvement initiatives in fast moving and growing organisations. They will bring experience in driving Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and LEAN Manufacturing to a site with an already strong foundation in these areas. As part of the leadership team, the Manufacturing Manager will collaborate closely with all functional leaders including Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain, Technical/R&D, Engineering, Finance, and the General Manager as the expert in their field. They will lead, collaborate, and contribute to the overall business strategy and play a key role in making business critical decisions to drive the business forward. The right candidate will not only embrace but drive growth in a business and market that has experienced multiple challenges including raw material supply, an aging workforce, leadership gaps, in role education and training, and a need for further manufacturing strategy. This may include current and future CAPEX management on site. Skills & Experience Tertiary qualified in a food Manufacturing field, or a related discipline. Have a proven successful track record in Tier 1 manufacturing sites from within the food processing and manufacturing industry and knows what good looks like Minimum of 5-years' experience leading cross functional operational teams. Display strengths across developing strategy, change management and operational finance (including P&L). Have a great understanding of complex manufacturing including multi-tiered Bill Of Materials, multiple WIP stages, etc. Be strong in character, strategically minded and ready to embrace and drive growth. Ability to lead as a strong coach and mentor with collaborative, hands-on style. Prior experience managing within a unionised environment is highly regarded. Excellent communication, presentation and reporting skills at all levels required.
