Provide after-hours emergency cover as determined by the relevant work unit. Rotations to Rural Practice sites across the state are available.Tasmanian Health Service – Hospitals North West incorporating North West Regional Hospital, Burnie (NWRH) and Mersey Community Hospital, Latrobe (MCH):Resident Medical Officers employed at the Tasmanian Health Service – North West have the unique opportunity to experience regional and rural medicine at two campuses in beautiful North-West Tasmania, and thrive in a supportive workplace with excellent educational opportunities. Allocations are personalised to meet the career goals of individual RMOs. Streams include Rural Generalist*, Basic Physician Training, Surgery/Orthopaedics, Critical Care*, Emergency Medicine, and General Practice.Other opportunities include (but are not limited to) support for Certificate or Diploma courses, teaching and research opportunities.Allocation to Rural Generalist and Critical Care streams are by expression of interest each year; interested applicants are advised to apply to this RMO campaign then submit an EOI when requested.
