English as an Additional Language/Dialect Teacher
The Department of Education is seeking to establish a pool of English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies in the Intensive English Centre (IEC) and General and Foundation EAL/D courses.
Job Description
* We are looking for suitably qualified EAL/D teachers who can deliver rich and challenging educational programs to a diverse student cohort.
* The successful applicants will join an enthusiastic team that is engaged in delivering strategic, goal-focussed and evidence-based approaches to teaching that engage, support, and challenge young people to be independent learners and critical thinkers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver EAL/D programs in the IEC and General and Foundation EAL/D courses to mainstream Year 11 and 12 students.
* Understand and address the needs of students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
* Develop and implement inclusive teaching strategies to engage and support students.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
