Job Description Within a multidisciplinary team, provide a range of treatment services for children and families impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder. The incumbent will assist with supporting families around early childhood development issues, parent networking and transition into the school system. This person will also work closely with colleagues to develop parent programs and social opportunities for children, assist with development and delivery of groups, and liaise with external agencies that serve similar populations. Job Qualifications Required QualificationsBachelor of Social Work. Must be eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers.ExperienceRequires a minimum of 12 months (postgraduate) recent recognized experience in a community mental health setting working with children, youth and families presenting with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Experience working with other acute and chronic mental health problems is an asset.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to design, initiate and conduct in service training for other professionals.Ability to document in a concise and timely manner.Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems.Ability to identify, implement and evaluate areas of client difficulty across a wide range of clinical presentations and formulate evidence based intervention.Ability to manage a high demand caseload and other work assignments.Ability to provide public education regarding children and youth and Autism.Ability to work in partnership within the community and possess a broad knowledge of community resources including treatment programs and support agencies.Ability to work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary mental health team.Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act and other legislation that impacts the work of clinicians in a mental health setting.Knowledge of a variety of intervention strategies (individual and group) for children/youth with mental health and addiction problems in a community setting, including, but not limited to: assessment, triage treatment and case management.Knowledge of normal child and adolescent development and psychopathology including an understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and the impact of the disorder on the child and family.Knowledge of the diversity of cultures, values and traditions and their impact on accessing mental health services.Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
