About The Role
As a Drive for Life Instructor, you will play a vital role in supporting clients to achieve their driver's licence and build independence. Your primary responsibilities will include screening and inducting participants, coordinating and delivering driving lessons, and monitoring progress toward obtaining a Provisional licence. You will also contribute to the growth and sustainability of the program by building strong partnerships with government and community stakeholders, ensuring clients are supported to meet their licensing requirements.
How You Will Make An Impact
* Conduct client intakes and assessments, documenting information provided and referrals made.
* Organise, facilitate, and deliver practical driving lessons while tracking client progress toward their Provisional licence.
* Develop and implement client-focused, individualised lesson plans.
* Accurately document case notes in line with program requirements and organisational standards.
* Record client hours and lesson details in the Queensland TMR application.
* Teach practical driving skills across all aspects of safe and responsible driving.
* Adhere to The Salvation Army's safeguarding policies and program-specific procedures.
* Support Drive for Life program requirements and Work Health and Safety compliance.
* Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and with external stakeholders.
What You Will Bring
* Strong planning, organisational, problem-solving, and evaluation skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics (Car Driving Instruction), or willingness to undertake this qualification.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to consult and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Proven ability to manage unpredictable situations and behaviours.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
* A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
