Your New Chapter in Executive Support
Tenterfield Shire Council is looking for a full time Executive Assistant to the Department of Corporate and Infrastructure Services to join the team in Tenterfield, NSW.
This is a newly created position, designed to provide high-level administrative and executive support to both the Director of Corporate Services and the Director of Infrastructure Services. As such, you'll help define how executive support is delivered across two of Council’s most vital divisions, shaping an impactful and highly visible function.
You’ll also work closely with the Executive Assistant & Media, as well as the Communication and Governance team. You’ll be joining a fast-paced, supportive executive team where collaboration, trust, and high standards are part of the daily rhythm.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Delivering high-level executive support, including diary and inbox management, records coordination, phone screening, and confidential communications
2. Preparing agendas, briefing notes, minutes, travel itineraries, and booking arrangements
3. Monitoring task actions and resolution tracking across both departments
4. Coordinating meetings and ensuring all outcomes and follow-ups are documented
5. Supporting policy research, administrative projects, and internal documentation
6. Assisting with financial administration and procurement within the delegation
7. Providing backup executive support to the General Manager as required
Your efficiency and insight will enable our executive leaders to focus on high-level delivery and outcomes that benefit the Tenterfield community.
Is This You?
You’ll hold a Cert III or IV in Business or Business Administration, or bring significant years’ experience in a high-level administrative or executive support role. We also welcome candidates from sectors such as health, education, legal, or not-for-profit, where communication, confidentiality, and multi-leader support are core to success.
You’ll also bring:
1. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Outlook, and Excel)
2. Strong experience in preparing minutes, documents, and reports to a professional standard
3. Confidence in managing priorities across multiple leaders or departments
4. Excellent formatting, communication, and task management skills
5. Australian work rights and a current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence
Bonus points for:
1. Familiarity with Local Government systems and InfoCouncil
2. Experience coordinating travel, procurement, or executive logistics
3. Previous exposure to infrastructure or corporate service environments
