Join Hazeldene's.Primary ObjectiveThe role involves carrying out preventative maintenance of plant and equipment in line with manufacturer recommendations and manuals, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and maximising production outcomes.
It also requires resolving operational and technical equipment issues to minimise interruptions to processing or manufacturing from breakdowns or failures, while maintaining a commitment to the Zero Harm philosophy.
As a member of the Mechanical Maintenance team, the incumbent will contribute to a positive team environment, support colleagues, and assist in the training and development of apprentices.
Hazeldene's is committed to ongoing training and support, and the successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in training activities and, where required, help facilitate training to ensure maintenance staff meet performance objectives outlined in this Position Description.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct preventative maintenance on plant and equipment, adhering to manufacturer recommendations to ensure safety, product quality, and production efficiency.Plan, schedule, and organize tasks independently, coordinating with other team members as necessary.Execute emergency work orders promptly and provide troubleshooting expertise to minimise downtime.Fit and assemble fabricated metal parts and subassemblies, ensuring accuracy and proper fit using precision measuring instruments.Set up and operate machining tools, including cutting, grinding, and drilling, to form metal stock and castings to fine tolerances.Diagnose faults and perform operational maintenance, overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment.Cut, thread, bend, and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.Provide daily feedback and reports on work progress, identifying delays and suggesting improvements to eliminate future issues.Supervise apprentices and contribute to a positive team environment, participating in Safety Tool Box Meetings and maintaining a safe workplace.Maintain flexibility in work hours, including providing shift cover and responding to after-hours breakdowns as needed.Commit to a Zero Harm safety philosophy, ensuring all mechanical work complies with safety standards and regulations.Disclaimer: The duties and responsibilities outlined above are not exhaustive and may change from time to time based on business needs.
