Job Title: Assistant Accountant
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the preparation of financial reports, and prepare all types of tax returns
* Providing accounting support, such as preparing invoices and processing payments, payroll processes and questions
* Provide data entry and reconciliation tasks and bookkeeping services to clients
* Preparing and reviewing Activity Statements
* Be proficient with Microsoft Office programs
* Assist with ASIC compliance obligations and liaising with ASIC and ATO
* Answer phone calls, emails, and other communications, managing calendars and scheduling appointments
Our Ideal Candidate would:
* Have a minimum of Cert IV in Accounting-Bookkeeping (GST and Business Activity units included) or a Diploma in Accounting or above
* Be a team player who is eager to integrate into a collaborative and forward-thinking environment
* Have strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks
* Have excellent communication skills, with a passion for delivering tailored solutions to clients
* Have a minimum of 12 months of experience in a public practice or bookkeeping role.
* Have experience with Xero and MYOB
* Must have unrestricted full-time work rights in Australia.
