Leadership Opportunity in Emergency Medicine
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership to the Emergency Department (ED) team, working closely with the Assistant Director of Nursing. This key role is supported by a Business Manager and a medical workforce comprising over 40 FACEMs/FRACP-PEMs, more than 30 registrars, and junior medical officers.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement strategic plans to advance patient flow and bed access, collaborating with the Clinical Director of the Division of Medicine and other Unit Directors for cross-unit engagement.
* Represent the ED in public-facing forums, media engagements, Ministerial correspondence, public health matters, and responses to complaints or coronial investigations.
* Promote the four pillars of Emergency Medicine at CHS: Education, Safety and Quality, Research, and Workforce Culture.
* Participate in the Canberra Health Services Operational Committee and provide strategic direction within the scope of the role.
