Electrical Services Technician Role
The Electrical Services Technician is a vital member of our Engineering and Services division, responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of Hamilton Island's electrical distribution network. This role involves installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repairs of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems, as well as operation of HV and LV networks, airport runway lighting systems, and electrical energy meters.
A key requirement for this position is holding a QLD Electrical Licence and having experience in electrical distribution networks, SCADA, and PLC systems. Other desirable skills include High Voltage switching and coordination experience, electrical instrumentation systems associated with water and sewerage systems, high voltage polymeric cable jointing and termination experience, experience with diesel powered generators, and Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) qualifications/accreditation.
Maintaining hazardous area equipment and providing technical support to various island departments are also integral responsibilities of the Electrical Services Technician. To ensure guest safety and satisfaction, this role involves prioritizing urgent repairs and participating in an on-call roster rotation for out-of-hours breakdowns.
