Provide technical advice and support to the Non Program Local Team members, offer feedback to management, and maintain relations with Underwriting Managers for the Retail lines of business excluding P&C. This role involves managing Underwriting Assistants supporting our Retail lines as a team leader, working closely with Underwriters and Middle Office management.
What will your essential responsibilities include?
1. Demonstrate full ownership and accountability for accounts.
2. Support Motor, Climate, Construction, PI, Title, and M&A colleagues.
3. Manage stakeholder relationships and meetings, handle escalations.
4. Conduct regular 1-2-1 feedback sessions with team members.
5. Assist management with goal setting, mid-year, and annual reviews.
6. Maintain accurate reporting on relevant KPIs.
7. Collaborate with Shared Services teams, facilitate knowledge sharing, training, and escalate issues when necessary.
8. Handle requests from Underwriters, Clients, Brokers, and other stakeholders promptly.
9. Share knowledge within the team and promote cross-team collaboration.
10. Ensure timely escalation to management when appropriate.
11. Produce reports and provide commentary to management.
You will report to the Head of Middle Office, UK.
We’re looking for someone with these skills and abilities:
1. Attention to detail when handling accounts and clear communication with stakeholders and team members.
2. Experience in UK commercial business, understanding of policy documentation, premium allocations, and taxes.
3. Ability to develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
4. Commitment to delivering high-quality service to clients, brokers, and AXA companies.
5. A positive attitude, especially during change, and ability to motivate the team.
6. Effective prioritization, time management, and proactive communication about potential delays.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLookups, Pivots, formulas) without guidance.
8. Computer literacy, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams; experience is advantageous.
