Aboriginal Child Protection Caseworker - Northern NSW


We work with families to keep them safe and strong. Our goal is to help Aboriginal kids grow up in their communities, surrounded by loved ones.


The role involves working closely with parents, family members, children or young people, to build trusting relationships and find solutions that meet their needs.


To be successful, you'll need to be confident, curious and resilient, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.


Some key responsibilities include:



* Developing safety plans and conducting risk assessments

* Managing cases and situations, including working with high-needs and high-risk clients

* Participating in court processes, including preparing documents and attending hearings

* Engaging in individual and group supervision



This is a challenging but rewarding role that requires a deep understanding of the Aboriginal community and its unique cultural context.

Key Requirements



* A relevant diploma or degree qualification (or equivalent experience)

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* A valid driver's licence

* A paid Working With Children clearance number

* Documented verification of Aboriginality
