Core Talent have partnered with a leading Manufacturing client who are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support and lead electrical engineering activities across our clients manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong industrial experience who enjoys working closely with production, maintenance, and project teams to improve performance, safety, and reliability.
You will play a key role in the design, upgrade, and optimisation of electrical systems supporting manufacturing equipment, automated processes, and plant infrastructure
Responsibilties:
* Lead electrical engineering design and technical support for manufacturing facilities
* Design, review, and approve electrical systems including power distribution, motor control centres (MCCs), VSDs, and control panels
* Support automation and control systems in collaboration with PLC/SCADA engineers
* Provide technical leadership for upgrades, continuous improvement initiatives, and capital projects
* Conduct fault-finding, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements on electrical systems
* Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, statutory requirements, and site safety procedures
* Liaise with contractors, OEMs, and suppliers
* Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to maintenance teams
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
* 5+ years' experience in manufacturing, industrial, or heavy industry environments
* Practical, site-based experience supporting operational plants
* Familiarity with Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3000, AS 3008, etc.)
* Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, safety-focused mindset
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
