About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the workshop team to ensure safe, efficient and reliable maintenance outcomes across the fleet. You will provide hands-on leadership, technical guidance and support to tradespeople and maintenance personnel while driving compliance, productivity and continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a residential role, operating on a lifestyle 4/5, 5/4, 5/5 rotating dayshift and night shift roster.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate workshop maintenance activities across heavy mining equipment and ancillary fleet
* Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with site procedures and statutory requirements
* Allocate resources and labour to achieve planned maintenance schedules and breakdown response targets
* Support and mentor tradespeople, apprentices and leading hands within the team
* Work collaboratively with operations and planning teams to minimise downtime and maximise fleet availability
* Ensure accurate maintenance reporting, documentation and system updates
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency and cost management
What Were Looking For
* Demonstrated experience in a maintenance supervisory role within the mining industry
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
* Trade qualification in a relevant mechanical discipline
* Sound knowledge of heavy mobile equipment maintenance practices
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Commitment to safety leadership and fostering positive team culture
* Experience using maintenance management systems such as SAP is highly regarded
