Role: PreSales Engineer (ANZ) at Everseen in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
The Role
As a PreSales Engineer with the Everseen Go-To-Market Team, you will own the technical and data aspects of the sales relationship with customers and prospects. You will demonstrate the capability of Everseen’s solution suite to meet customer outcomes and show insights from trials and pilots. This role offers the opportunity to work with industry experts on cutting‑edge technology and help scale a successful global organization.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver compelling, customized demonstrations of our technology to technical and business stakeholders.
- Own the technical components of the sales process to ensure a seamless and informed sales journey.
- Engage directly with customer CTOs and technical leaders to build trust and confidence in our solution’s capabilities and fit.
- Collaborate with the sales team to define tailored technical solutions that align with customer needs and business goals; drive the sales process in partnership with the Go-To-Market team.
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) on our product, delivering deep technical insight and advice on data insights.
- Provide technical expertise through presentations, solution designs, demonstrations and proofs of concepts; offer ongoing technical consultation addressing complex questions and objections.
- Translate customer requirements into solution architecture and articulate how our platform solves real-world problems and the insights it generates.
- Provide excellent customer service by anticipating and meeting customer needs head on.
- Collaborate with Go-To-Market, Operations, Engineering and Product teams to document and improve best practices and processes; engage in knowledge sharing.
- Stay up to date with new developments in Everseen’s technology, computer vision, Gen AI, and the wider retail technology space.

Profile and Skills
- 5+ years in technical sales, presales or solutions engineering roles with enterprise-level customers and SaaS products, solutions or services.
- Knowledge of and interest in AI and its use in retail; strong technical acumen to understand Everseen’s features and functions; knowledge of the retail market.
- A true passion for delivering best-in-class customer experience; demonstrated success in positioning, presenting and demonstrating new products and features.
- Ability to understand customer culture, needs and requirements in the Australia–Current Zealand region.
- Experience with advanced data analytics and forecasting/tracking key account metrics in a business development context; drive to meet and exceed targets.
- Experience developing relationships and communicating with customers at a technical level.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; English is the business language.
- Willingness to travel to meet customers and work with the Everseen team.
Technical Skills
- Extensive experience with Linux systems, Bash scripting, package management and log analysis.
- Proficient with containerization (Docker, Podman) and hands-on Kubernetes orchestration, Helm charts and multi-tenant policies.
- Knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM) and capability to define hardware requirements for CPU, RAM, GPU and storage sizing.
- Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing).
- Familiarity with retail POS systems (NCR, Diebold Nixdorf, Toshiba, Oracle) and integration with back-office solutions; PCI DSS compliance and peripheral hardware (scanners, printers, SCOs, EFT terminals).
- Exposure to cloud and hybrid edge deployments, monitoring and observability with Prometheus, Grafana and Power BI.
- Understanding of security best practices (SELinux, Kubernetes RBAC, secrets management, VPN tunneling, log management).
- Strong solution design and pre-sales capabilities, including requirements gathering, creating technical architectures, demos/POCs, and customer-ready documentation and BOMs.
- Familiarity with automation tools, especially Ansible; proficiency with Salesforce, Microsoft 365, Jira and Power BI.
