Turbocharger specialist (engineering)

We are looking for a Turbocharger Specialist with an engineering background to join our team. This role goes beyond standard mechanical work, focusing on turbocharger design, performance analysis, diagnostics, rebuilds, and engineering-based problem solving across a range of applications.

You will play a key role in ensuring optimal turbocharger efficiency, reliability, and performance, supporting both operations and technical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop turbocharger systems and components for gasoline, diesel, and related applications
* Perform root cause analysis of complex turbocharger faults and performance issues
* Disassemble, inspect, repair, and rebuild turbochargers
* Perform engineering analysis including thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics (Aerodynamics), NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) and mechanical design validation
* Create and interpret CAD models, drawings, and technical specifications
* Conduct testing, balancing, and validation of turbocharger units
* Perform failure analysis and recommend design or material improvements
* Cross departmental collaboration on product development and innovation
* Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation
* Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, and engineering standards
About You
* Bachelor of Engineering degree (Mechanical, Aeronautical, or a related field) Highly desirable
* 8+ years of demonstrated experience in Turbomachinery; turbocharger systems, forced induction, turbine engines, or rotating equipment
* Strong understanding of thermodynamics, Aerodynamics, System dynamics, Vibration dynamics and mechanical design
* Experience with engineering design tools (e.g., CAD software such as SolidWorks, or similar)
* Strong experience in Simulation and analysis tools (e.g. Solidworks, ANSYS)
* Experience in DFA/DFM
* Ability to move between hands-on workshop tasks and engineering design work
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Experience designing turbomachinery or similar high-speed rotating machinery
* Knowledge of materials, coatings, and heat management in high-temperature environments
* Experience with GD&T and limits and fits
* Experience with Tribology
* Experience with design and operation of test benches and performance validation systems
