**The Role**
The Business Support Officer (BSO) position forms part of the Navy Minors Capital Program (NMCP) directorate and resides within the NMCP Program Management Office (PMO). The BSO will report to both Program Manager and the Deputy Director NMCP. Previous experience tracking financial risk, forecasting expenditure and reporting results to relevant stakeholders will make you a strong contender for the role.
The duties include:
- Maintaining a Financial Forecast Spreadsheet (FFS) (or similar financial tracking system) that records actual/ forecasted expenditure, financial risk and financial forward work planning (based on commitments) for the NMCP program.
- Assisting with the development of all NMCP Financial reporting requirements.
- Working directly with NMCP Project Managers to collect and update financial data in their respective Project FFS.
- Working with the NMCP scheduler to reconcile changes in a project's mandatory milestones that impact the FFS.
- Coordinating and assisting with corporate financial reporting including Defence Finance Group directed Mid-year Program review and forecasting.
**About our Team**
Given the dynamic nature of the Navy Minors Forward Work Plan, close control and monitoring of the program budget is essential to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of Navy capabilities. This position provides critical Business Support functions that include the accurate management and reporting of Navy Minors Capital Program expenditure, maintenance of cost models, program expenditure forecasts, procurement and invoicing. In addition this position will provide critical business continuity in functions that are unable to be conducted by contracted workforce (e.g. approval and administration of acquisition purchase orders/good receipting).
