Solutions ArchitectContract Duration - 3-6 months Summary Hudson is seeking an experienced Azure Integration Services (AIS) Specialist to lead the design, governance, and delivery of enterprise integration solutions across the organisation's cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments. The specialist will serve as the subject matter expert for Azure API Management and Azure Service Bus, driving API-first design principles, defining enterprise integration patterns, and ensuring all solutions align with cybersecurity, data governance, and compliance obligations. Working closely with IT leadership, project teams, Engineers and business stakeholders, the contractor will translate strategic requirements into actionable architectural recommendations, develop end-to-end integration for the in-flight projects, facilitate design workshops and architecture reviews, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization's enterprise architecture frameworks and standards. The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on expertise in Azure Integration Services, strong knowledge of TOGAF methodologies, and a proven track record of delivering integration solutions in complex, governed environments. This engagement is expected to establish reusable integration patterns and reference architectures that will reduce delivery risk and drive long-term consistency across the company’s ICT landscape. Responsibilities • Azure Integration Architecture - Design and develop end-to-end integration solutions using Azure Integration Service (AIS), Azure API Management, Azure Service Bus, and event-driven architectures, defining integration flows, messaging capabilities, and reusable patterns across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments. • API Governance & Management - Serve as the subject matter expert for Azure API Management, ensuring secure, consistent, and governed API consumption and publication, championing API-first design and cloud-native integration patterns. • Enterprise Integration Patterns - Design and governance of enterprise integration across applications, data platforms, and cloud services, producing clear architectural artefacts including integration patterns, interface specifications, and data flows using TOGAF/BDAT methodologies. • Stakeholder Engagement & Solution Design - Engage with business units and IT leadership to translate strategic and operational requirements into architectural recommendations for enterprise platforms, facilitating design workshops and architecture reviews. • Security, Compliance & Quality Assurance - Ensure all designs align with cybersecurity requirements, data governance, and privacy obligations, providing architectural oversight to guarantee solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, and maintainable. • Technical & Continuous Improvement — Provide hands-on guidance to project teams and engineers, support DevOps alignment and automation, maintain reference architectures, and contribute to the continuous improvement of enterprise architecture frameworks and standards. • Autonomous Delivery & Strategic Problem Solving – Operate with a high level of independence, taking full ownership of integration architecture outcomes from discovery through implementation. Proactively identify requirements, risks, dependencies, and design considerations; apply structured problem-solving to diagnose complex challenges spanning systems, vendors, or organisational boundaries; and deliver high-quality architectural artefacts and solutions within agreed timelines.
