About the role
This role provides a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on paediatric healthcare in North West Queensland. Based in Mount Isa, you will provide leadership, clinical care, and teaching while managing diverse paediatric cases rarely seen in metropolitan centres.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop paediatric services while providing expert clinical care.
* Supervise and mentor junior staff, medical students, and residents.
* Contribute to quality improvement, governance, and patient safety.
* Deliver culturally safe care and support research and education initiatives.
Working with us
Competitive pro rata remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value up to $663,108 p.a.
* Base salary ranges between $216,643 and $274,678 p.a. (L18-L27) (Paid pro-rata for engagement period or part time employee)
* 5 weeks annual recreational leave accumulation with 17.5% loading when taken.
* Attraction and retention incentive allowance (Assigned Model)
* Regional and Rural attraction allowance of 15% base annual salary
* Motor vehicle allowance.
* Professional development allowance and leave of 3.6 weeks p.a.
* Inaccessibility allowance.
* Accommodation (Provided as per NWHHS Procedure for Staff Accommodation)
* Transfer and appointment expenses (conditions apply).

Requirements
* Registration as a Specialist Paediatrician, or other relevant speciality, with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
* FRACP (Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians) or equivalent.
* C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
* Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
* This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
* A period of probation may apply.
