About the Role
The Batch Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the batch plant in an underground gold mining environment. This role ensures the production of high-quality concrete and grout mixes to support underground mining operations. The operator will report to the U/G Supervisor and coordinate with various departments, including engineering, maintenance, and mining teams, to meet the production and operational needs of the mine. Additional responsibilities may include Assist Mining when no batching is required, such as Truck Driving, Service Crew, Off Siding, Stores Truck, Grader.

7/7 Roster, 12‐hour shifts, rotating days & nights
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and produce concrete and grout mixes as required, according to specified recipes and industry standards.
Monitor equipment and adjust plant settings to maintain product quality, consistency, and adherence to operational requirements.
Conduct regular quality checks on raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with quality control standards. Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Assist U/G Mining where required when no Batching is needed.
About You
1+ years of experience as a Batch Plant Operator, preferably in an underground mining environment.
Knowledge of batching equipment, concrete/grout production processes, and quality control practices.
Strong understanding of mining safety regulations and practices, especially in underground settings.
Basic mechanical skills and ability to perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Proficiency with batch plant control systems and ability to operate computerized equipment.
Ability to work in an underground mine environment with challenging conditions.
Physical fitness to perform manual labour, including lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and working in confined spaces.
Ability to work shift schedules, including nights, weekends, and extended hours as required.
Residential mine – no FIFO, live and work locally in Ballarat.
Company‐supplied uniforms, fully laundered on site.
