About The Client
This organisation operates one of Queenslands major coal mining operations, located within the Bowen Basin. The site has a long history of open-cut and underground mining, contributing significantly to the regions metallurgical and thermal coal supply. About The Role
WorkPac has an exciting opportunity for an IT Systems Engineer to join the team to Newlands Coal Mine. Reporting to the QLD IT Team Leader (and with regular liaison with the Newlands Commercial Manager) you will be responsible for providing ahigh level of technical support and expert advice across a range of standard software products and installed infrastructure.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
* Apply technical expertise and a methodical approach to diagnose and resolve system issues.
* Work to ensure maximum system uptime and operational continuity.
* Manage third-party service providers and vendors to maintain effective IT service delivery.
* Collaborate with business users to support and improve IT services across site operations.
* Act as the technical lead for site-based IT projects when required.
* Support the onsite IT budget, including monitoring spend and assisting with cost control.
* Assist in the allocation and coordination of IT resources to meet operational priorities.
Skills And Experience Required
* Industry qualifications (MTA/MCSA/MCSE) or extensive practical IT experience
* Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
* Proficiency with Microsoft client and server technologies
* Active Directory administration and maintenance
* Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols and networking fundamentals
* Ability to support and troubleshoot PABX systems
* Competence in working with and maintaining PC hardware
* Knowledge of fibre optic and copper cabling installation, maintenance and fault-finding
* Experience supporting wireless and mesh radio technologies
