Our client is currently seeking multiple **EL1 Assistant Director **to join the Research and Evaluation Branch.
**About the Role**:
The Research and Evaluation Branch is responsible for ensuring that NDIA policies, practices and priorities are informed by trustworthy and robust evidence. The branch aims to improve evidence-based decision making within the NDIA and finds solutions to high priority issues, shaping disability research to maximise its impact for the NDIS.
The branch is accountable for collating and conducting research, evidence, best practice and lived experiences for decision-making. This includes evaluating key NDIA programs and initiatives, ensuring staff are able to find, generate and utilise evidence for decision-making and translating our knowledge of research to our customers and stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**EL1 Assistant Director, Evidence Synthesis**
The EL1 Assistant Director will provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. It may be required to coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the NDIA's objectives to "build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme".
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to scope, develop and manage project plans.
- Designing and documenting protocols for environmental scans, evidence snapshots, scoping or systematic reviews of evidence relevant to participants or models of practice.
- Conducting searches of scientific and grey literature in accordance with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) standards.
- Performing research in line with documented protocols for inclusion/exclusion of records, data extraction, quality appraisal and data synthesis.
- Maintaining project related records including research software or platforms.
- Engaging with external and internal stakeholders to interpret findings and support translation.
- Preparing and presenting research reports and recommendations for different stakeholders, including internal slide-pack summaries for stakeholders.
- Supervising a small team on ad-hoc or ongoing basis
- Supporting the growth of junior staff
- Leading or supporting broader projects across the Branch
**EL1 Assistant Director Evidence-based Practice**
The EL1 Assistant Director Evidence-based Practice (Labour Hire) is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes within the Research and Evaluation functions of the NDIA.
The position will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in very complex problem solving and issues management within the Research and Evaluation functions. The position will exercise sound decision-making and judgement to produce high level policy advice and operational support.
The EL1 Assistant Director Evidence-based Practice (Labour Hire) will coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake detailed or sensitive projects that may include performing diverse activities involving many different and unrelated processes or methods that may impact on the strategic or operational outcomes that support the NDIA's objectives to "build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme".
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Use expertise in evidence-based practice, knowledge translation and implementation science to support Agency projects.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to translate research into actions.
- Lead internal capability activities designed to support evidence informed decision making, including online learning and community of practice.
- Develop resources to communicate research findings.
- Support implementation of evidence-based approaches into policy and practice.
- Maintain project records using research software or platforms.
- Prepare and present internal reports including slide-pack summaries for stakeholders and communicating recommendations to stakeholders based upon the findings.
