Job Description
The successful candidate will work as part of a team responsible for coordinating Work Integrated Learning (WIL) within the Industry and Community Hub. They will collaborate closely with colleagues to promote and support WIL initiatives. The primary focus is on developing and maintaining relationships with reputable businesses that provide meaningful industry experiences for students.
Key responsibilities include:
* Maintain and nurture relationships with business leaders to ensure a pipeline of continuing, high quality student placements;
* Raise awareness and brand of the WIL program via networking events, social media, and external events such as careers expos;
* Build new relationships with hosts and ensure a smooth and supportive WIL placement for all parties;
* Conduct research based on student demand for roles and identify businesses in that field to raise awareness of the WIL program;
* Follow up on new leads with a view to build a relationship to ensure the business will want to host Curtin students as a priority over other universities;
* Develop internship roles with hosts and discipline leads/course and major leads to ensure students gain a valuable/credit-bearing experience;
* Undertake due diligence site visits to ensure both hosts and premises meet requirements; Ensure all legal procedures are in place;
* Support students and hosts throughout (milestone checks/escalation point);
* Participate in strategizing as a team to implement best practices for WIL to increase placement numbers;
* Drive student engagement with key communications, events, and employability opportunities which lead to increased interest in WIL/talent pipeline;
* Liaise with industry partners for mentoring and industry networking purposes, collaborating with industry engagement purposes with students studying specific majors such as Property, Financial Planning, and assist with mentoring those students;
* When required scope interest in other forms of WIL & Industry Engagement for the Faculty with Key relationships i.e. honours placements/longer placements/Captains of Industry;
* Undertake other activities which the incumbent might reasonably be expected to do, and which are consistent with the accountabilities and responsibilities as listed above, e.g. representing WIL at events such as Open Day, Orientation

* Demonstrated oral and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and professionally;
* Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, manage, and meet the needs of a large number of stakeholders;
