About the role
Tonitto Cakes is seeking an experienced Baker / Pastry Chef to join our team in Wollongong, NSW. This full-time position is an excellent opportunity to apply your baking expertise and culinary talents within a thriving local bakery.
What you'll be doing
* Preparing and baking a wide variety of pastries, cakes, award winning pies and other baked goods to the highest standards
* Ensuring all production processes adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations
* Collaborating with the team to develop new recipes and innovative product lines
* Assisting with the maintenance and cleaning of baking equipment and the work environment
* Providing excellent customer service and sharing your baking knowledge with customers
What we're looking for
* Formal training and qualifications in baking, patisserie or a related culinary discipline
* Extensive experience as a Baker or Pastry Chef, ideally within a retail or commercial bakery setting
* Retail or commercial bakery experience is strongly preferred for this position
* Excellent technical baking skills with an eye for detail and presentation
* Creative flair and the ability to develop new recipes and bakery products
* Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for providing exceptional customer service
* A positive, collaborative attitude and the ability to work well within a team
* Candidates must hold valid Australian work authorisation including valid work visa
