Town Planner | Property Development & Construction Are you a Town Planner looking to work on projects from acquisition and feasibility through to approval and delivery? We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Town Planner to join a growing property development and construction group with a strong track record of delivering high-quality residential and mixed-use projects across Sydney. This is an opportunity to become part of an integrated team where planning is at the forefront of shaping development outcomes. You will work closely with development managers, architects, consultants and senior leadership to drive projects through the planning and approvals process while influencing key strategic decisions from an early stage. The Role Reporting to the Head of Planning & Development, you will play a pivotal role across the entire project lifecycle, including: Preparing and managing Development Applications (DAs), Planning Proposals and modification applications Undertaking planning due diligence and feasibility assessments for acquisition opportunities Providing strategic planning advice on residential, mixed-use and commercial developments Managing consultant teams including architects, traffic engineers, urban designers and specialist advisors Liaising with local councils, government authorities and external stakeholders Interpreting LEPs, DCPs, SEPPs and other statutory planning controls Identifying project risks and opportunities to maximise development outcomes Assisting with negotiations and planning pathways to achieve successful approvals Monitoring legislative and policy changes impacting development opportunities About You To be successful in this role, you will possess: A degree qualification in Town Planning, Urban Planning or a related discipline 3 years' experience within a planning consultancy, developer, council or property environment Strong understanding of the NSW planning framework Experience preparing and managing development applications Excellent written communication and report-writing skills Strong stakeholder management and negotiation abilities Commercial awareness and an understanding of the broader development process The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities What's on Offer Exposure to the full development lifecycle from acquisition through to delivery Diverse portfolio of residential and mixed-use developments Direct access to experienced development and construction professionals Career progression opportunities within a growing organisation Collaborative and entrepreneurial team culture Attractive salary package reflective of experience This position would suit a proactive Town Planner who enjoys being involved beyond the approvals process and wants to play a meaningful role in shaping quality developments across Sydney.
