About Your New Role
As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will play a key role in strengthening and maturing the City of Gold Coast’s cyber infrastructure. Reporting to the Coordinator Cyber Security Engineering, this technical position will support our cyber defence capabilities through proactive configuration, security policy development, infrastructure monitoring, and incident response initiatives.
In This Role, You Will
* Manage and improve Web Proxy and Cloud Security technologies in alignment with best practices.
* Develop and implement Secure Email Gateway policies and configurations.
* Configure DMARC, DKIM, and SPF records to mitigate email spoofing.
* Lead security infrastructure improvements for cyber programs.
* Maintain technical security standards, procedures, and health monitoring.
* Collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders to strengthen application and cloud security.
* Provide reporting on operational performance and help identify cyber risks.
* Participate in a 24/7 on-call roster to support cyber security operations.
We're Looking For People Who Have
* A passion for cybersecurity and significant progress toward or completion of a relevant tertiary qualification.
* Minimum of 2 years' hands-on experience with Netskope SSE solutions (CASB, SWG, DLP, ZTNA).
* Understanding of zero-trust security models and cloud security frameworks.
* Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, proxies, and firewall rules.
* Experience with large-scale cloud, network security, and email security infrastructure.
* Familiarity with email relay, DMARC, SPF, and DKIM policies.
* A Netskope Certified Cloud Security Expert certification (preferred).
* Eligibility for AusCheck clearance.
