The Department of Children and Families provides support services across child protection, domestic and family violence, multicultural affairs and senior's recognition. As Deputy Chief Executive Strategy, Programs and Enabling Services you'll provide strategy leadership and management to develop and implement the Department of Children and Families' strategic priorities and enable its reform agenda including the commissioning of robust services in the children and families, domestic, family and sexual violence, homelessness and emergency response and recovery (welfare) portfolios to meet Government objectives.
Your responsibilities include the fiscal oversight, quality assurance, legal and enabling functions that enable the delivery of high-quality services, the development of the Department's strategy, strategic settings and commissioning of services designed to meet the needs of local communities, address systemic challenges and improve the lives of all Territorians.
Working with the Senior Executive Group, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, Government and Non-Government Agencies, you will lead and embed governance, assurance and continuous improvement activities to enable evidence based frontline services delivered by the Department.
You will oversee the implementation of strategic programs, policies and reform initiatives, and provide high-level strategic advice to the Chief Executive, Ministers and key stakeholders on program strategies, fiscal and operational performance and reform initiatives, and strategic commissioning.
To meet the challenges of this strategic role you require, demonstrated success leading a large multi-disciplinary team in a complex operating environment, proven experience in workforce development and fiscal management, and a strong understanding of current and emerging social, economic and policy issues that impact the Northern Territory. Political acumen, cultural competence and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to build organisational capability and ensure responsive and effective change management.
