About the Role
We are seeking a visionary leader to head our Emergency & Critical Care team, guiding us towards outstanding patient and client care. As Head of Department, you will work closely with specialists in Surgery, Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Anaesthesia, and Diagnostic Imaging, playing a pivotal role in our hospital where multidisciplinary collaboration drives innovation, learning, and lasting change.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop our ECC team, fostering a supportive and high-performing culture.
* Deliver best-practice emergency care while mentoring interns, ECC vets, and final-year DVM students.
* Shape departmental strategy, ensuring sustainable growth, efficiency, and service excellence.
* Build systems that promote high clinical standards, exceptional student outcomes, and team engagement.
Requirements
* A veterinarian registered (or eligible for registration) in Victoria.
* Memberships in Emergency & Critical Care (MANZCVS) are preferred but not essential.
* Leadership skills with the ability to engage and inspire teams.
* A passion for education and mentoring, experience teaching students or junior clinicians is highly valued.
* Commitment to continuous improvement, collaboration, and evidence-based practice.
