Overview
We are looking for a proficientProcess Control Applications Engineerto join the team in either Brisbane or Bundaberg.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, programming, commissioning, and maintaining control systems.
Your work will encompass projects including receiving station controls, conveyor control, vessel management systems, shiploader control, vision applications, and other related systems.
Collaboration with engineers and technicians will be key, and occasional travel within Queensland for site support will be required to ensure optimal performance of our bulk sugar terminals.
Responsibilities
Program and debug PLCs/HMIs (Schneider M340/580, Uticor HMI, Unity Pro software).
Integrate PLCs, SCADA, and HMI platforms (Citect, AVEVA Plant SCADA).
Provide on-site/remote troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintenance for automation systems.
Electrical design, single line diagrams, schematics, termination diagrams, layouts.
Train clients, liaise with suppliers, and optimize equipment performance.
Contribute to R&D, data utilization, and new equipment commissioning.
Travel for support/commissioning and collaborate cross-functionally.
Provide technical support to the rest of the team and clients as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
Completed or part completed tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering or an information technology related field.
Valid QLD Class C Driver's Licence.
Demonstrated experience in interpreting electrical schematics.
Proficiency in programming complete PLC systems using Schneider Unity Pro or Control Expert.
Familiarity with the Uticor HMI product range.
Strong knowledge of Schneider PLC hardware and software platforms.
Hands-on experience with AVEVA Citect SCADA systems.
Solid understanding of machine safety standards and practices.
Background in industrial automation, particularly within bulk commodities or similar sectors.
Expertise in control system design, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis.
Excellent problem-solving abilities, diagnostic skills, and effective communication.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and thrives under pressure.
Genuine passion for control systems and a strong desire for continuous learning.
