What You’ll Be Doing
As an Enrolled Nurse in our Transition to Practice program, you’ll be a valued member of the healthcare team, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You’ll work closely with patients, families and carers while building confidence and capability in real clinical settings.
You’ll be employed on a 7-day rotating roster, with access to self-rostering requests to help support your work–life balance as you transition into professional practice.

Who This Program Is For
We are seeking newly graduated Enrolled Nurses (or students graduating within the next six months) who are keen to commence their careers through a structured Transition to Practice experience. We’re looking for motivated, adaptable ENs who want to learn, be challenged, and consolidate their training in dynamic acute settings. If you’re eager to develop new skills, gain confidence, and progress your career in a supportive environment, this program is for you.

The Support You’ll Receive
From day one, you’ll be welcomed into your local facility and supported by your Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE), and experienced colleagues. Many of our larger sites offer formal Transition to Practice programs, including structured rotations and targeted professional development at John Hunter Hospital, Maitland Hospital, Tamworth Hospital and Manning Base Hospital Taree. Smaller facilities provide personalised, hands-on support through close-knit teams, ensuring you’re never on your own as you build confidence in practice.
Across all sites, you’ll have access to:

All designed to help you transition safely and successfully into your EN role.

All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions.
