About the company
Play Collective designs and supplies holistic, aesthetic early-years environments, from furniture and rugs to lighting and over 3,000 learning resources. Their spaces inspire wonder in parents while meeting early years curriculum needs, and they’re already working with leading childcare groups such as Guardian. With strong demand and an exciting pipeline of opportunities ahead, the business is now investing in marketing and digital to take things to the next level.
About the role
This is a newly created role for a Digital Content & Marketing Manager to shape and deliver Play Collective’s digital presence. You’ll lead the launch of a new website, bring a broad product catalogue to life online, and establish the content, CRM, and marketing activity that fuels growth. It’s a hands-on role that blends strategy with execution: building the plan and calendar, creating content and campaigns, and laying the foundations for future scale. Success in the first year will mean a beautiful, fully functioning website, a consistent content engine, and always-on marketing that drives measurable demand.
Skills & Experience
We’re looking for a hands-on digital all-rounder with experience in eCommerce and content-rich environments. You’ll need to bring:
- Experience managing websites (launches, migrations or rebuilds) with large catalogues.
- Full-stack marketing capability across brand, content, CRM, paid and organic channels.
- Strong creative direction and visual taste – able to brief and run shoots, and protect the brand’s premium aesthetic.
- Ability to build processes from the ground up, communicate clearly, and thrive in a fast-moving environment.
- Empathy for educator audiences, or experience in adjacent B2B2C/portfolio-style businesses.
Nice-to-haves include exposure to education, interiors, furniture, or multi-category retail; practical knowledge of Shopify (or similar), GA4, Klaviyo/Mailchimp, SEO, and paid social/search; and light design skills (Canva, Figma, Adobe).
Culture
Play Collective has a kind, collaborative culture where creativity and clarity matter. Working mums are genuinely welcomed, flexibility is real (output over hours), and in-person time is encouraged for connection. You’ll start as a department of one, with scope to engage freelancers and later grow the team once foundations are in place. For the right person, this is a rare chance to build a digital function from the ground up and make a visible impact in a business with strong momentum.
