About The Role
We're seeking a highly experienced and strategic Sales Manager to drive commercial growth and lead a high‐performing, multi‐site sales organisation. Based in Melbourne, this role will define and execute a clear go‐to‐market strategy, cultivate strong customer and internal partnerships, and champion innovation across sales, marketing, and product development. If you excel at unlocking new market opportunities, developing people, and delivering sustainable long‐term customer value, this is a pivotal role where you can make a significant and measurable impact on the direction and success of the business.
* Build and maintain strategic customer relationships, leading end‐to‐end sales development including prospecting, negotiation, and closure of high‐value commercial agreements.
* Champion continuous improvement by driving innovation across sales strategy, marketing initiatives, and new product development, while ensuring alignment with safety, policy, and regulatory frameworks.
* Deliver sales and margin growth through the execution of a clear, commercially driven strategy focused on customer retention, new customer acquisition, and long‐term value creation.
* Oversee accurate forecasting, budgeting, and resource planning to ensure optimal business performance and profitability.
* Lead, coach, and develop a high‐performing multi‐site sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous professional development.
* Set clear performance expectations, conducting regular one‐on‐ones, coaching sessions, and team meetings to drive results and capability uplift.
* Build strong cross‐functional partnerships across operations, finance, marketing, and product teams to influence product development, market positioning, and tailored customer solutions that enhance competitive advantage.
* Leverage data, analytics, and market insights to identify growth opportunities, monitor business performance, and guide strategic decision‐making.
What You Bring To The Role
* Minimum 5+ years in a sales leadership position within construction, building materials, manufacturing, or related trade industries, with a proven track record of leading successful sales teams.
* Strong leadership capability, with expertise in coaching, engagement, performance management, and building high‐performing, results‐driven teams.
* Customer‐centric relationship builder, experienced in managing high‐value, strategic accounts and delivering sustainable commercial outcomes.
* Demonstrated excellence in sales execution, supported by strong CRM utilisation and pipeline management discipline.
* Commercially astute, with solid analytical capability, P&L understanding, and the ability to apply insights to drive strategic, data‐led decisions.
* Skilled in complex selling and negotiation, including contract management, solutions‐based/consultative selling, and managing multi‐stakeholder environments.
* Collaborative and tech‐savvy, with experience supporting new product development and the introduction of new solutions to market.
