About North East Link
The Spark Consortium has been selected for the Central Package of the North East Link Project - Victoria's biggest road project. The Spark Consortium's Design and Construction Contractor - which comprises Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction and China Construction Oceania - will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges for the project.
The Central Package will be delivered as a Public Private Partnership and provides three-lane twin tunnels that will close the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer with BEW and tunnelling expertise, specifically for works within the Smoke Duct Works, to join our TBM team on the SPARK North East Link Project – one of Melbourne's most iconic infrastructure projects.

This role will be accountable for:
* Coordinate on-site construction engineering activities to meet programme, safety, quality and budget targets.
* Develop and implement construction methods, procedures and systems that drive safe, efficient and cost-effective delivery.
* Monitor progress, cost performance, material registers and subcontractor dockets to support accurate forecasting and reporting.
* Oversee procurement of plant, equipment and materials, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
* Prepare, review and present construction methodologies and technical documentation to stakeholders.
* Support tendering activities, including scopes of work and evaluation of subcontractor quotations.
* Lead daily and look-ahead planning with Supervisors to coordinate resources and manage programme changes.
* Manage work lots and QA documentation, ensuring all testing, inspections and records meet contractual requirements.
* Identify risks, opportunities and potential efficiency improvements across the project.
* Mentor and support Site and Graduate Engineers in delivering high-quality engineering outcomes.
Minimum Requirements for this role are:
* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or similar field
* Engineer with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience. Construction site experience is desirable.
* Advanced skills in relevant computer software packages; Microsoft Suite; Primavera 6; AutoCAD; Teambinder/InEight and Aphex.
* Knowledge of project management structure, plans, specification, standards, and implications for project accountabilities
* Understanding of Project Design, Quality, Safety and Environmental Management Plans
* Pre-contracts knowledge in relation to design, planning and legislative requirements.
* Drafting of subcontract scopes of work for work contracts.
