We are seeking a seasoned Technical Operations Specialist to spearhead the technical strategy and platform reliability of our modern cloud-based HR and Payroll solution.
This role combines DevOps engineering, SQL database administration, and hands-on technical leadership. You will serve as a senior escalation point, drive platform automation, manage critical incidents and releases, and collaborate with a high-performing team across Australia and New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the technical operations of the Jemini platform across Azure, SQL Server, and supporting infrastructure.
Lead uptime management, performance monitoring, and capacity planning.
Design and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and containerised deployments.
Act as the primary escalation point for critical incidents and support after-hours resolution and release activities.
Administer SQL databases, manage security, implement encryption and compliance best practices, and support high availability configurations and experience with performance tuning.
Mentor technical staff, support DevOps maturity, and ensure operational excellence across the stack.
Engage with development teams, vendors, and customers to align technology and business outcomes.
Requirements:
10+ years in senior IT roles with a focus on operations and platform engineering.
Proven expertise across Microsoft Azure, SQL Server, enterprise networking, and cloud security.
Proficiency in automation scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
Proven success in CI/CD pipeline engineering and infrastructure as code.
Experience in 24x7 SaaS support environments and ISO/IEC 27001-compliant operations.
Strong communication and incident leadership skills with a customer-centric mindset.
Desirable Skills:
Experience in HR/Payroll SaaS platforms.
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, and SQL Profiler.
Azure SQL Managed Instance
ITIL knowledge and Microsoft certifications.
SSIS/SSRS and data integration experience.
