ABOUT THE BRANCHCOMCAR provides high quality secure and confidential car-with-driver and other ground transport services to the Governor-General and, Prime Minister (both current and former), parliamentarians, members of the Federal Judiciary and other high office holders.

COMCAR also provides ground transport and associated support services to visiting Guests of Government such as Royalty, Heads of State, Heads of Government, and other foreign dignitaries. COMCAR frequently delivers services during major international events, such as the ASEAN Special Summit, Group of Twenty meetings (G20), the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) and other Ministerial forums hosted in Australia. COMCAR has a national presence, with drivers located in each state and territory. COMCAR operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYAs a member of the COMCAR Team, you will be responsible for providing support to deliver COMCAR services.
Core duties include:

- Leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the COMCAR SA and NT teams, ensuring the delivery of high quality and timely car-with-driver services to clients.
- Supervising and supporting driving staff in an operational environment.
- Providing administrative support for the depot including payroll systems, timesheet management and data analysis and ensure compliance to our enterprise agreement.
- Manage leave requests while balancing workforce management requirements to ensure we can meet the needs of our clients.
- Foster a productive working relationship with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Managing a vehicle fleet in an efficient, effective, and environmentally sustainable manner.
- Supporting COMCAR’s Visit Team with delivery of the Guest of Government visit program, ensuring a high level of service delivery, observing strict security and confidentiality protocols.
- Coach, mentor and conduct performance conversations with driving workforce.
- Support and co-ordinate recruitment and onboarding activities ensuring appropriate staffing levels are achieved.
- Facilitate Driver Induction and refresher training.
- Support service delivery by capably representing COMCAR and the Department of Finance in an official capacity, presenting with credibility, tailoring your communication to the audience.

Note: This role involves intermittent after-hours commitments and applicants must be able to meet the flexible requirements of the position which may include occasional interstate travel or out of core hours work.
This is an operational role, and candidates are required to work from the SA Depot. Adaptable working arrangements may be considered in line with the Departmental guidelines but would need to meet operational requirements of the role.

Applicable allowances, flex time and overtime are payable for additional duties outside of regular hours of work, in line with the Department of Finance Enterprise Agreement 2024-2027.
